Bloomsbury Festival: Linked & Woven l Write Away

October 2012

We worked with local communities, teachers, schools and artists to create an El Anatsui inspired installation, 'Linked & Woven', in Queen's Square, during Bloomsbury Festival.

We created woven panels from recycled materials which will all were linked together to create a shimmering structure in Queen's Square. During the festival there was storytelling inside of the installation and members of the public learnt how to weave the panels and added them to the artwork.

We also partnered up with the Postal Museum to run 'Write Away' project. Gallery visitors ate homemade cakes and created beautiful postcards that were then sent free of charge to anywhere in the world!

The weekend was  a grand success, with visitor numbers in the hundreds.
