October Gallery Education have partnered with Camden Council, 1a Children's Centre, City Lit and many other local organisations to encourage family learning.
Each month we hold a FREE family art session at the gallery and at the 1a Children's Centre. For more information please click on Octoby the gallery octopus.
Alongside these sessions, we have been running taster sessions to encourage new audiences to visit the gallery; working with homeschool groups, Learning Unlimited and London Transport Museum to name a few!
New Creative Writing/Digital Media Project
October Gallery are delighted to announce their new partnership project with Fragments of Parenthood and Creative Writes. The two organisations will deliver a series of FREE creative writing and digital media workshops for parents of children aged 0-5yrs at October Gallery in 2013. This is a global project spanning Brazil and the U.K. Parents will write about the impact of parenthood on their lives and their work will be exhibited on an interactive digital tree.
Fragments
of Parenthood is a global participatory
project based in story-telling that aims to explore the impact of parenthood on
21st century mothers and fathers. The aim of the project is to explore and
offer visibility to a set of issues confronted daily by parents. Your story
will reveal knowledge, ideas and inspiration, eventually becoming part of a digital interactive tree of
parenthood stories.
Creative Writes uses a particular philosophy which involves free flow writing and no feedback/critique during group workshops, thus encouraging the participants to grow in confidence and judge their own work. We deliver a regular programme of creative writing workshops in London and guest workshops across the UK: www.creativewrites.co.uk
Representatives will be at October Gallery on 26th November at 1pm, please join us to find out more about the project.
